Hot bending of Polycarbonate panel: The heat deflection temperature is about 130℃ (1.18MPa), and the glass transition temperature is about 150℃. Above this temperature, the sheet can be thermoformed. Polycarbonate hot bending. The minimum bending radius is three times the thickness of the panels themselves, and different bending radii can be obtained by adjusting the width of the heating area.

In the actual work of hot bending of the polycarbonate, the bending parts are prone to cracks, uneven thickness, bubbling and whitening, which affects the visual beauty at least, and affects the actual use of the board and is directly scrapped. So what are the issues that need to be paid attention to during the hot bending of polycarbonate?


1. The heating is uniform because local heating is likely to cause internal stress on the plate: it is generally necessary to continuously roll the plate or directly select the double-sided heating method when heating on one side.
2. Strictly control the heating temperature and duration: if the heating time of the polycarbonate sheet is too long or the temperature is too high, the sheet will foam (the temperature is too high, resulting in the temperature inside and outside, at this time the external air enters the internal accommodating part of the board). If the heating time is insufficient or the temperature is too low, the bends will easily turn white.
3. Pay attention to the humidity of the sheet: polycarbonate sheet has good moisture absorption, so if you use the stock solid polycarbonate for hot bending, you need to pre-dehumidify the polycarbonate sheets to prevent bubbles and fog from the molded PC product Undesirable phenomena such as the group of micropores

Due to the characteristics of polycarbonate resin, polycarbonate sheet has good tensile strength, bending strength, and creep resistance, so they can be directly cold-formed at normal temperature or hot-formed.
